Privacy policy
This site collects as little as possible, and what it does collect is used to answer you. Nothing on this page is written to give me room to do something else later.

What this covers
This policy applies to dangossett.com. It describes what the site collects, why, who else can see it, and how to have it corrected or deleted. It is written to meet the California Online Privacy Protection Act, and it reflects how the site is actually built rather than a general template.
My other sites operate separately and have their own policies. This policy does not cover them, and it does not cover the MLS, my brokerage's own systems, or any third-party site you reach from a link here.
What the site collects
The contact form collects your name and email address, which are required in order to reply, and optionally your phone number, your city, and whatever you write in the message. Alongside those it records the subject area of your enquiry — taken from the page or link you arrived through, not from anything you fill in — plus the page you sent it from and the date and time. That is the whole list.
Like any web server, this one briefly sees your IP address when a page loads. It is used to rate-limit the contact form so it cannot be flooded, and it is not written to the enquiry record.
The public site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how people arrive, which pages they read, and which non-personal actions lead to a conversation. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies and may collect device and browser details, approximate location derived from an IP address, referral information, pageviews, and interactions such as a successful form submission or a phone or email link click. The site does not send form values, names, email addresses, phone numbers, review text, or other free-form content to Google Analytics. The only other cookie the site can set is the sign-in cookie for my own publishing screen, which is never issued to a visitor.
What it is used for
Enquiry details are used to respond to you and to carry on the conversation you started. That is the only purpose.
Your information is not sold, rented, traded, or shared with anyone for their own marketing, and it is not passed to other agents, lenders, or lead-buying services. You will not be added to a mailing list because you used the contact form.
Aggregated Google Analytics information is used to understand site traffic and improve the pages and contact paths. Analytics is not used to decide whether to respond to an enquiry, and it does not contain the details you submit through a form.
Who else can see it
The site runs on hosting, email, and analytics infrastructure operated by other companies. Enquiries pass through hosting and email providers in the ordinary course of being stored and delivered. Google processes Google Analytics data as a separate service provider under its own terms and privacy practices. Analytics reports do not receive the details you submit through a form.
Beyond that, information is disclosed only where the law requires it, or where sharing is plainly necessary to act on your instructions — for example, giving your contact details to escrow once you have asked me to open a transaction.
Tracking across websites
This site does not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing, or a profile shared across other websites. Google Analytics is used here for first-party site measurement: it records aggregated page and interaction information for this site, without the form details or free-form content you submit.
A Do Not Track signal from your browser does not automatically disable Google Analytics. You can also limit cookies through your browser settings.

Seeing, correcting, or deleting your information
Email hello@dangossett.com and ask. I can tell you what was submitted, correct it, or delete it. There is no account to log into and no form to fill in — a plain email is enough, and I will ask you to confirm the request came from the address it was sent from.
California residents may make these requests without being charged or treated differently for it. If you ask me to delete an enquiry, I may still need to keep records connected to a real estate transaction where the Department of Real Estate or my brokerage requires them to be retained.
How long it is kept
Enquiries are kept while there is a live reason to keep them: an active conversation, an open transaction, or a record I am required to retain. Enquiries that never became anything are deleted once they are plainly stale, and you can ask for yours to go sooner. Google Analytics retains analytics data according to the retention settings for this site's Google Analytics property and Google's own policies.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and enquiry data is stored on managed infrastructure with access limited to me. No system is perfect, and I would rather say that plainly than promise something no website can honestly promise. Please do not send financial account numbers, Social Security numbers, or similar details through the contact form — if I need something like that, I will tell you a secure way to send it.
Children
This site is meant for adults doing real estate business and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent something through the form, email me and I will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version is posted on this page and the date at the top is updated. Where a change materially affects how information already submitted is handled, I will say so on this page rather than change it quietly.
Contact
